Blanquita Cullum

 

Blanquita Walsh Cullum, award -winning radio broadcaster and driving force of Radio Talk show hosts,currently serves as the Chairwoman of the Talk Radio First Amendment Association (formerly known as the National Association of Radio Talk Show Hosts). Every year since 1995, Blanquita has been named by TALKERS Magazine, the trade publication for the industry, as one of the Top 100 Broadcasters in Talk Radio. She is the President and Founder of the Young American Broadcasters Program, an educational training program directed to college students interested in the field of Broadcasting.
 
Ms. Cullum was awarded the Corporate Achievement Award by Vista Magazine for paving the way for Hispanics in broadcasting; and also awarded the Distinguished Service Award by Project Interchange for her broadcasting and work in Israel.
 
Blanquita Cullum frequently appears on national network and talk shows for CNN, FOX, MSNBC, the BBC, Canadian Broadcasting, Good Morning America, the CBS Nightly News, CSpan, Politically Incorrect and others. Her nationally syndicated program, “Newsbeat”, is heard coast to coast and is carried on the Radio America Network. She recently led a delegation of broadcasters to Saudi Arabia and Israel on behalf of NARTSH and Talkers Magazine.
 
From 1994 to 1999, Ms. Cullum worked for America’s Voice Television Network. During her tenure, her on-air programs included anchor of the Evening News, Morning News Program and co-host of American Family.
 
Blanquita Cullum has a career that includes over 25 years in radio and television beginning in San Antonio, Texas. Her career includes working for KENS TV, KITE Radio, KTSA Radio, and KSJL as on-air talent, producer, investigative reporter and public affairs director. 
 
Former Governor George Allen appointed Ms.Cullum to the Virginia Commission for the Arts. She is a member of Women of Our Hemisphere (WOH), an entrepreneurial women’s organization headed by Ambassador Holland Coors. On behalf of WOH, she has traveled throughout Central America and South America meeting with other women from Latin America. She has served as Secretary of the FEMA Advisory Board, Member and Secretary of the VIA Metropolitan Transit Authority, Project Ser, the Private Industry Council, Teach the Children Board and was the spokesperson and anchor of a television program for the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
 
Ms. Cullum has emceed over 2000 events in her career including, three Presidential Inaugural Galas, the Inaugural Events of Governor George Allen and the Republican Senate House Dinner to name a few. She has worked closely with many non-profit organizations such as MALDEF, LULAC, G I Forum, the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the United Negro College Fund, and the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. She has been a part of many telethons and fundraisers over the years. She has served as a surrogate speaker for the Republican National Committee and has broadcast her program live from the Republican and Democratic conventions.
